Back from Ghana, Welcome to Summer

Greetings and Happy second day of Summer,

I returned from Ghana last Tuesday evening and am still quite tired and adjusting to the time difference but wanted to check in with you to give you a heads up that the trip was amazing and the best one I have been on in my four trips to Ghana! If you had been following me on Facebook, you would have been seeing daily photos and videos and you may have been tracking our progress, so I thank you for that.

While in Ghana, we gave away 200 back packs and 150 flip flops, monetary donations, clothing, shoes and so much more and every recipient was thankful…for that I thank YOU for your donation which allowed The Give Black Foundation to do some great humanitarian work.

It’s the season to share and give and spread love, joy and cheer. We were happy to participate in cooking and serving breakfast for men at Prince George’s House on 12/15/18 🙏🏽 ...

On behalf of the children and families we will touch and serve while we are in Ghana, West Africa from May 23 to June 11, 2018, I THANK all of our amazing donors for their support to the “100 book bags & 100 flip flops” Drive.  We wanted to raise enough funds to purchase 100 book bags and 100 flip flops, but we were blessed to purchase a total of 200 book bags and 150 flip flops including 50 of each purchased by our Executive Director & Founder, Rosie (Yaa Gyasi) Parke.  We are almost packed and ready and will be donating 50 book bags and 50 flip flops to others who are giving back in Kenya and Jamaica.  While in Ghana, we will also be volunteering at Akoma International Academy for a week — teaching a Girls’ Program and doing daily yoga, fitness and wellness.
